The PhD Peacebuilding program accepts applications at any time. However classes begin in August, and all application materials should be submitted by June 15 of each year in order to be considered for first semester admission.
Applications and supporting references should be submitted online. Please make arrangements for admission by emailing [email protected] and sending a copy to Dr. Le Ngoc Bich Ly ([email protected]) or Dr. Tony Waters ([email protected]). Students needing faculty to submit letters to support scholarships, and other financial support should submit their materials earlier—please consult with us and the scholarship program. The International PhD application form will begin the application process.
Below are the qualifications to be admitted into each of our programs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPLICATION
(1) Master’s Degree
(2) 3 years of work experience
(3) 550 TOEFL score (or equivalent) and English certificate. This is normally waived for students who have written their Master’s Thesis in English.
METHOD OF SELECTION
Selection will be based on:
completed application form
all official post-secondary transcripts
statement of purpose (750-1,000 words)
list of writings/publications (if any)
letters of recommendation (two from former college/university instructors, and one from work colleague/supervisor)
personal/telephone interview
TUITION
The total tuition package for 4-year PhD Program (8 regular semesters) is 768,100 baht (approximately 25,000 USD). Thai students are discounted 160,000 baht.

(2) 3 years of work experience

The total tuition fees for 2-year PhD program (4 regular semesters) is 498,600 baht (approximately 16,000 USD). Thai students are discounted 80,000 baht.

The Methods of selection are as follows:

TUITION
The tuition fee is 17,100 Baht per seminar/course. A full semester’s load of courses (three seminars) is 51,300 Baht.
CERTIFICATE
Learners can select to study from one to three courses. If a student has completed all 6 courses in both semesters, that student will be awarded with a Certificate in Peacebuilding and official transcripts. If a student completes fewer than 6 courses, the student will receive only the transcripts for the courses taken.
For international students who need Thai visa, they have to register for all 3 courses per semester to fulfill the required number of course hours by the Thai immigration regulation.
